The Bordure variety is not intended for agricultural use. During trials in forage lupin breeding programs for organic farming, high susceptibility of this plant to anthracnose was recorded, which led to its exclusion from further research due to severe disease infection.
Detailed morphological characteristics or the breeding history of this variety are absent in open publications. The name Bordure in the context of lupins is often used as a common term, denoting the use of plants of the species Lupinus nanus as border decorative crops in landscape design.
