The Flothrum Robin variety is a perennial herbaceous plant resulting from the hybridization of Lythrum virgatum and Lythrum salicaria. Plant height varies from 40 to 130 cm, with the variety considered one of the most compact in its group. The stems are densely covered with lanceolate green leaves, which drop in winter.
The magenta-colored flowers have a five-petaled star shape and are gathered in dense vertical spicate inflorescences. The flowering period lasts from June to August or September, with one inflorescence capable of blooming for 6–8 weeks. The plant is characterized by high hardiness, resistance to lodging, and attractiveness to insect pollinators.
