Variety description

The variety is a deciduous shrub or small tree 3–4 meters in height with glossy dark green elliptical leaves. The plant is characterized by slow growth and dense branching.
Large goblet-shaped flowers up to 15 cm in diameter possess a rich dark burgundy color and a pleasant aroma. Flowering is early, occurring before leaf emergence, with possible repeat flowering in mid- or late summer.
The plant is winter hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -25...-30 °C. It prefers moist, well-drained soils with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. Recommended for solitary planting, small gardens, and container cultivation.
