The variety was used as a component in the creation of new breeding lines and served as a resistant control when evaluating resistance to root rot caused by Aphanomyces euteiches. Intended for forage purposes, in particular for the production of hay and fodder.

In trials of the 1980s, the variety demonstrated high productivity comparable to other high-yielding varieties of that period. Characterized by resistance or moderate resistance to Verticillium wilt.

On the winter hardiness scale, the variety was classified as a moderately winter-hardy variety with an average dormancy period.
