The hybrid Nepenthes lingulata x Nepenthes truncata inherits from the maternal species N. lingulata the deep purple color, elongated pitcher shape and the characteristic appendage under the lid, and from N. truncata — large size, overall growth vigor and large rounded leaves.
Variety NP8016 is characterized by a compact habit and cylindrical pitchers about 19.4 cm long, colored grey-green with grey-purple spots. This designation is a specific breeding code that does not coincide with the general morphological description of the classic hybrid.
The plants are suitable for cultivation in intermediate temperature conditions from 12°C to 30°C with high air humidity from 70% to 90%. The crop requires a substrate of sphagnum, perlite and orchid bark, while it is important to maintain substrate moisture without excessive waterlogging.
The plants have an exclusively ornamental purpose for private collections and specialized greenhouses. Given their high value and rarity, propagation is preferably carried out vegetatively, via cuttings, to preserve varietal traits.
