The plant is a hybrid obtained by crossing Nepenthes ramispina and Nepenthes ventricosa (according to other data — N. gracillima and N. ventricosa). It is an evergreen climbing shrub that forms a vine up to 2–3 meters in length as it grows.
Leathery leaves are complemented by large pitcher traps measuring up to 15 cm. The color of the pitchers varies from dark burgundy to almost black with a lighter interior. The cultivar is considered one of the easiest to cultivate among high-altitude hybrids, requiring increased air humidity and watering with purified water.
