The plant is a perennial, cultivated in temperate climates as an annual. It has erect, branched stems covered with glandular hairs. The height of mature specimens varies from 70 to 150 cm.
The flowers are tubular in shape, reach 10 cm in length, have a creamy-white color and a distinct fragrance that intensifies in the evening hours. The flowering period lasts from early summer until the first frosts.
The crop is thermophilic and requires regular watering. It is used in landscape design for decorating flower beds, terraces, and recreational areas, and is also suitable for cut flowers.
