The variety belongs to the japonica type. The plants have a relatively small height and panicle length, and the period from sowing to flowering for this variety is shorter than that of a number of standard rice varieties.

The grain of the variety is characterized by high quality, in particular a high elongation ratio upon cooking, and an increased protein content.
