The line was created by irradiating a salt-sensitive rice variety to study the physiological characteristics of plants under stress conditions. Research work on this subject was conducted with the participation of the National Institute for Agricultural and Food Research and Technology of Spain and the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research.
Under normal growing conditions, the line is characterized by a lower height compared to the parent plant. Under salinity conditions, the line exhibits salt tolerance, but shows a decrease in yield and specific physiological accumulation of sodium ions in the leaves.
