The Russian rice variety YaNTAR' is mid-season. It was bred by the method of individual selection from the hybrid combination Lider and Pervotsvet. The variety possesses biological resistance to Pyricularia oryzae.
The Kazakh rice variety of the same name is characterized by a growing season of 110 to 130 days and forms a long grain. The variety often undergoes a parboiling process, which explains the choice of the name, associated with the color of the grain after such processing.
