In floriculture, the trade name Panicum Firework is applied to an ornamental cut grass with a height of about 70 cm. At the same time, in botanical literature, the name Firework is most commonly associated with Stipa arundinacea, which changes its leaf color from green to reddish-brown and has a height of 50–90 cm.
In official agricultural plant registries, the name Firework is assigned to Panicum miliaceum, which is a grain crop. Due to the lack of a unified botanical description, different plant species that do not share common agrotechnical characteristics may appear in trade under this name.
