The plant is a decorative vine intended for container cultivation and use in vertical landscaping. It is characterized by intense flower coloration and a long flowering period.
The variety is not winter hardy in the open field conditions of most European regions. The origin of the cultivar is not reliably confirmed, and the name itself often causes confusion, as various plants may be hidden under it, including Passiflora amethystina and its hybrids.
