The variety is a bushy trailing or hanging plant. Stems can reach 30 cm in length, forming a cover about 15–25 cm high. Leaves are peltate, colored bright green with a characteristic creamy-white margin.

Flowers are simple, bright crimson or scarlet in hue, gathered in axillary semi-umbels. The plant is a heat-loving perennial, grown as an annual in temperate climates. It is characterized by increased growth vigor and intensive flowering compared to other variegated forms of the species.
