The plant is an evergreen perennial herbaceous plant with a trailing growth habit. The leaves are rounded in shape, lobed, and colored medium-green. Flowering occurs during the summer and autumn periods, during which time inflorescences of simple purple-hued flowers with red markings are formed.

The variety is drought-tolerant, however, it does not tolerate excessive moisture and waterlogging. In temperate climate conditions, the plant does not overwinter in the open field, therefore it is cultivated as a container plant requiring transfer indoors for the winter or annual replacement. It is used for decorative purposes in landscaping.
