The variety «Genim» is included in the lists of registered zonal pelargonium varieties of the Federal Plant Variety Office of Germany (Bundessortenamt). In the documentation, it is listed as a breeding object, however, detailed descriptions of height, resistance, or color are not provided in the official registration bulletins.

In plant catalogs of the late 19th century (1880–1883), a variety named «Genim» was mentioned, described as a plant with large white inflorescences. At present, there is no confirmation that the modern registered variety is the same plant as the one mentioned in historical publications.
