The variety is the result of a controlled hybridization program; its parental forms originate from the Calliope Dark Red variety. The plant has an upright or slightly ascending habit with dark green foliage, on which zonal marking is weakly expressed.
The flowers of the variety have a dark purple-red shade, corresponding to RHS 53A scale. The variety is intended for ornamental floriculture and is characterized by the ability to maintain intense flowering in conditions of severe summer heat.
In official documents and trade catalogs, the variety is classified as an interspecific hybrid, close in its characteristics to the zonal pelargonium group, and is often included in the Calliope breeding line.
