Pelargonium «Designer Scarlet» belongs to the group of zonal pelargoniums and is part of the «Designer» variety series. The plant is vegetatively propagated by cuttings and is used in container gardening and hanging baskets.

Externally, the variety is distinguished by the presence of large flowers and strong stems. The variety is closely related to other representatives of the series, such as «Designer Bright Scarlet», and has distinctive morphological features, including the structural characteristics of the leaf blade and the prominence of the zone on the leaves.
