The leaves of the variety have an entire margin and a characteristic red-brown zone on the leaf blade. The plant has single flowers approximately 5.8 cm in diameter. The degree of pubescence on the stem, petiole, and peduncle is rated as less dense compared to later hybrid varieties.

The plant is intended for use in floriculture. The variety is considered primarily as a collector's item or as a standard for botanical comparisons. Information regarding resistance to diseases or lodging is absent in official descriptions.
