The professional «Tango®» series of zonal pelargoniums consists of compact plants 25–35 cm in height with an upright habit. The foliage is dark green, often with a zonal band, and the flowers are of various colors, semi-double or single. The plants are characterized by rapid rooting and high uniformity.
The «Танго» variety from the State Register of the Russian Federation belongs to large-flowered pelargoniums, has average dimensions, and an early flowering period (90–110 days). The flowers are single, reddish-violet with a dark spot on the petals; the variety has low resistance to greenhouse whitefly.
There are amateur breeding varieties, such as the zonal pelargonium ИВ-Танго «Ревность» — a dwarf plant with double dark red flowers. Also, individual breeding forms appear under this name, such as «Odensjo Tango» and «Brookside Tango», which differ in flower type and bush size.
