The variety is a Phalaenopsis hybrid, which was previously often classified in the Doritaenopsis group. The plant is used both for decorative purposes and in breeding to create new hybrids, such as Phal. Kaoda Giant Crystal or Phal. FANGtastic Marianne Ciola.

Individual clones of the variety, in particular Phalaenopsis Kaoda Davis Pearl 'Firebird', have been awarded the AM/AOS quality certificate. The plant regularly appears in the results of specialized orchid exhibitions, where it is valued for its individual morphological flowering characteristics.
