The Phalaenopsis Poseidon variety is also designated in documentation by the breeding code MI00587. The plant is an epiphytic orchid, lacking pseudobulbs, and possesses short stem-like rhizomes. The leaves are oval-shaped, have a fleshy structure, and are colored in dark green or medium green shades.

The flowers of the variety form in branched inflorescences that develop from the leaf axils. The plant is used exclusively for decorative purposes as an indoor crop.
