The Mountain Snow variety is described in scientific literature as a hybrid sensitive to the presence of ammonium nitrogen in nutrient solutions. As the concentration of this element in the medium increases, the plant exhibits leaf chlorosis, starting in young tissues and gradually spreading to older parts of the plant.
