The Phalfenck variety, marketed under the trade name Anthura Montpellier, is intended for commercial cultivation as a decorative pot plant. The flower has a burgundy-red color with a characteristic white border along the petal edges, with a flower diameter of about 7 cm.

The height of the plant when potted in a 12 cm diameter pot is between 55 and 60 cm. The variety is distinguished by a developed number of flower spikes and proper leaf arrangement. According to the breeder's data, the average lifespan of the flowers is 79 days.
