In agronomic studies, the bean variety Arosa is used as a comparative standard when evaluating other varieties. In the course of such observations, a tendency for lodging in plants and a specific color of the pods were noted.

The name Arosa is found in a number of European agricultural variety catalogs; however, a detailed morphological description, maturity group, and information regarding its origin as an independent variety are absent.
