The variety is the result of a cross between breeding line MV1979 and the variety Irvel. It belongs to the snap bean type, the pods of which are classified as thin or extra-fine and are distinguished by high firmness and dark coloration.

The plant possesses genetic resistance to Bean common mosaic virus and anthracnose. The variety is intended for industrial processing and was recorded in a number of professional trials in the late 1980s and 1990s.
