The variety «Bergamo» is mentioned in a number of scientific papers as an object for laboratory research. In particular, it is used in experiments to study physiological and biochemical changes in bean tissues under the influence of ozone pollution, including studies on the oxidation process of the enzyme Rubisco and the dynamics of flavonoid content in leaves.

In technical documentation and variety testing protocols, this variety is sometimes used as a control sample for comparing morphological parameters, such as pod width.
