The variety belongs to the bush type and the category of “very fine” beans, grown for subsequent sorting of pods by caliber into extra-fins (up to 6.5 mm) and tres fins (up to 8 mm). Key morphological features are the absence of fibers on the ventral suture and the parchment layer.

In agronomic research, Cabri is used as a reference variety when evaluating the characteristics of legume crops. The variety has become widespread in commercial cultivation, in particular, it is noted as popular among farmers in the Uva region of Sri Lanka.
