The variety represents a collection of local ecotypes adapted to the mountain conditions of the Sierra de la Demanda. The plant is climbing, indeterminate, requires the use of supports, and has a growing cycle of 120 to 180 days.

The medium-sized grains are oval in shape and purple-wine in color without a pattern. The variety has a high water absorption capacity, at least 95%, and is valued for its thin skin and creamy consistency, which makes it suitable for preparing soups and stews.
