The Kreola variety is a specimen of Czechoslovak breeding, information about which is contained primarily in plant genetic resource collections. In scientific literature, it is regarded as a cold-hardy genotype.

During studies of the variety under the conditions of the Ob forest-steppe, its ecological variability was noted, manifesting in fluctuations in the number of pods per plant. The variety is used in breeding programs due to its adaptive properties.

There is a possibility of confusion with another bean variety of American origin that has a similar name but is not related to the Czechoslovak collection specimen.
