The Lapujole variety is a specialized pole (indeterminate) bean type intended for cultivation within the Haricot Tarbais specifications. The plant requires the mandatory use of supports, such as corn or netting, to ensure proper aeration and light exposure.

The variety's grains are kidney-shaped, characterized by thin skin, good digestibility, and resistance to deformation during cooking. The variety was created through the introgression of the anthracnose resistance allele from Phaseolus coccineus, which is its key agronomic feature.
