The Midas variety, also known under the code designation XP-Wax 9, is a low-growing bush plant. The variety forms thin wax-type pods.
The plant belongs to early-maturing and high-yielding forms. It possesses genetic resistance to bean yellow mosaic virus (race New York 15). The genetic material of the variety was used in scientific research for mapping the determinacy locus.
The purpose of the variety is for use as a yellow-podded snap bean.
