The variety belongs to the Dwarf French Bean type. The plant forms light green flat pods 15–16 cm long and about 1 cm wide. The main seed type has a brown color; a white-seeded variation is also encountered.
The variety is early-maturing, historically used for cultivation under glass with a growing period of about 50 days. The pods are tender and stringless. In official catalogs, the variety is often found under the synonyms St. Andreas or Sant'Andrea.
