The variety belongs to the dark red kidney bean group and is a pure line. It is intended for commercial cultivation and possesses high quality indicators, particularly suitable for canning.
The plant is of the bush type with an upright habit, which ensures lodging resistance and facilitates efficient drying before harvest. The variety is mid-season or mid-late and matures earlier than the Montcalm variety.
It possesses complex resistance to a number of diseases, including bean common mosaic virus, rust, and anthracnose, and also shows tolerance to bacterial blight and white mold. It is used in breeding programs as a reference variety.
