The variety «Trakiya» appears in Bulgarian research publications in the context of phytopathological trials. According to field studies, this variety possesses a resistant phenotype to bean rust caused by the fungus Uromyces appendiculatus.

The variety is also an object of study in breeding programs focused on resistance to white mold (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) and anthracnose (Colletotrichum lindemuthianum). Studies involving it were conducted by breeders D. Genchev and I. Kiryakov.
