The variety is a breeding hybrid obtained as a result of self-pollination of Philodendron tatei ssp. melanochlorum. The plant belongs to the group of self-heading philodendrons that form a dense bush without the need for supports. At maturity, it can reach 1.5–2 meters in height.
The leaves are oblong-oval in shape, thick, with a glossy surface. The variety is characterized by rapid growth and shade tolerance. All parts of the plant contain calcium oxalate crystals and are toxic to humans and pets.
On the market, various variations may be encountered under the name "Congo", including forms with reddish leaf shades or variegated varieties.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
