The variety was selected in Poland among Pinus ponderosa seedlings in 1997. The plant possesses growth vigor comparable to the typical species Pinus ponderosa.
The main distinguishing feature is the needle coloration: there are two yellow transverse bands on each needle. The variety is intended for ornamental collection gardening.
