The Annonay variety, also known as Très hâtif d'Annonay, is an early-ripening low-growing plant with a height of 35 to 50 cm. It belongs to the smooth-seeded pea group, forming straight pods 7–9 cm long, containing from 5 to 9 seeds.
The plant possesses resistance to unfavorable climatic conditions, in particular to cold, Fusarium wilt, and powdery mildew. The variety is traditional, maintains its properties when seeds are collected, and is intended for home garden and farm vegetable cultivation, including for obtaining an ultra-early harvest.
