The Suncrest variety is late-maturing; in California conditions, the harvest falls at the end of July – early August. The fruits are large, very firm, with yellow flesh and a freestone pit, characterized by good flavor, high keeping quality, and transportability.
The tree is vigorous, self-fertile, and characterized by stable fruiting. The flowers have good frost resistance. For normal development, the variety requires about 500–700 chilling hours.
