The NCXP1 variety is the result of intergeneric hybridization between Pyracantha crenatoserrata and a seedling of × Pyracomeles vilmorinii. It is an evergreen shrub with a dense, multi-stemmed, rounded or spreading crown, with a height ranging from 30 to 90 cm. Unlike many species of Pyracantha, the shoots of this plant are thornless.
The leaves have a glossy surface, and their length varies from 1.3 to 2.5 cm. During observations of this variety, flowering and fruiting were not recorded. The plant demonstrates resistance to diseases, pests, drought, and heat, tolerates pruning well, and maintains a stable compact habit.
The shrub is used for creating borders and hedges, and is suitable for cultivation in containers and as a solitary plant.
