The plant reaches a height of about 15 cm, forming clusters with linear dark green or blue-green leaves. Flowering continues from late spring to mid-autumn.
The variety is winter-deciduous, sheds its foliage for the winter, and enters a dormant state. The plant prefers sunny locations and requires well-drained soils, as it is sensitive to waterlogging during the winter period.
Used primarily as an ornamental plant for cultivation in containers and for landscaping alpine gardens and rockeries.
