The Argeș 1 variety was developed as a result of breeding work aimed at obtaining raw materials for industrial processing. The plant is related to the species Rosa rugosa and is valued for a significant volume of pulp in the fruits, exceeding 70%.

Key characteristics of the variety include an increased concentration of vitamin C and carotenoids in the fruits, as well as reduced bush prickliness. The plant demonstrates resistance to the disease powdery mildew.
