The variety belongs to the large-flowered climbing rose group and is a hybrid of Rosa kordesii. The bush is vigorous and upright, reaching a height of 200 to 375 cm, with large, shiny, leathery foliage. The plant requires tying to supports, as it lacks clinging organs.
Flowers with a diameter of 7–10 cm have a cup-shaped form, are semi-double, and are dark red with a velvety shade. The fragrance is weak. Flowering is remontant, continuing from June to October; the flowers are resistant to rain. After flowering finishes, fruit formation is possible.
The variety possesses high winter hardiness (USDA zone 6a) and good general resistance to diseases, however, in cases of poor air circulation, infections with powdery mildew or black spot are possible.
