Variety description
10 August 2026
The plant forms compact clumps. A distinctive feature of the variety is the ornamental thick stems of dark red color. The leaves are dark green, with a burgundy underside. The flowers resemble orchids and have a lavender-purple or mauve hue.
The plant height ranges from 30 to 55 cm. Flowering begins in July and can continue until August or September. The variety is a deciduous perennial that emerges late in spring.
The plant is winter hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -15...-20°C (USDA zones 6–9). It possesses resistance to Verticillium wilt, as well as to feeding by deer and rabbits. The upright, strong stems are resistant to lodging. It prefers partial shade and humus-rich moist soils.
