The plant forms dense clumps approximately 50 cm in height. The flowers have needle-shaped petals colored in mahogany, orange, and dark red tones.
Flowering lasts from June to October. The variety is drought-tolerant and has strong stems, however, it is classified as half-hardy, requiring protection in cold regions, and is a short-lived perennial.
Prefers sunny sites with good drainage. Used in ornamental gardening, including container planting and floristry, and attracts pollinators.
