The variety Shady Girl (synonym Negro) was obtained by breeders of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences on the basis of the Rudbeckia hirta variety «Őszi fény» by gamma irradiation. The plant was created with a focus on high adaptability to changing climatic conditions and urban stresses.
The variety is intended for floral decoration and can be used in compositions with both annual and perennial plants. Publications emphasize its drought tolerance, although specific morphological parameters of plant height are not detailed in the sources.
