The variety Doris belongs to bioenergy clones intended for short-rotation plantations. Its origin is linked to the hybridization of Salix burjatica × Salix dasyclados. The plant is characterized by rapid growth, which allows for biomass harvesting cycles every 2–4 years.
In modern Irish and European energy forestry practice, this variety is recognized as inefficient and has been removed from the market. When grown in monocultures, the variety is susceptible to rust, like other representatives of the species Salix x dasyclados.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
