The mountain savory variety Liunata is characterized by a high essential oil content, which in the mass flowering phase constitutes 0.45% of the fresh weight or 1.3% of the absolutely dry weight. The key component of the essential oil is para-thymol, the proportion of which reaches 82.72%.
The plant belongs to spicy-aromatic crops. Due to its chemical characteristics, the variety is promising for use in the food industry, in particular for the flavoring of wines.
