Variety description

The plant is a perennial, reaching 10–15 cm in height and spreading to 30–40 cm in width. The variety forms dense, compact "cushions" of small shiny leaves, the color of which varies from light to dark emerald, sometimes acquiring reddish or brown shades during the cool period. The stems are often colored red.
Flowering occurs in spring and summer with small yellow star-shaped flowers. The plant is undemanding and hardy. It is used in rock gardens, as a groundcover plant, as well as a container or houseplant in pots and hanging baskets.
