The stem is round. Leaves are dark green, rigid, serrated, and arranged oppositely. Flowers are yellow, gathered in heads with a diameter of 3–5 cm. The fruit is a winged achene; the thousand kernel weight is about 18–25 g.
The plant is perennial with a commercial use period of 10–15 years, sometimes up to 30 years. The variety develops better in moist areas, floodplains, gullies, and ravines, but does not tolerate waterlogged areas.
