The plant forms densely branched, compact cushions 40–80 cm in height. Flowering occurs in spring from April to June with small white flowers gathered in paniculate inflorescences.
The variety prefers partial shade or shade and requires slightly acidic, humus-rich, well-drained soils. Due to its bisexuality, the variety easily sets fruit without additional pollinators.
The plant is used as an ornamental in container culture or group plantings. The ornamental value is maintained for a long time due to bright red berries that remain on the bush during the winter period.
